In 1987, Twisted Sister released their final full LP of original material, titled "Love Is For Suckers." Initially conceived as a Dee Snider solo project, the decision was made to release the album under the Twisted Sister name for various reasons. Despite retaining a dedicated following, the lead single "Hot Love" failed to resonate with audiences, and the subsequent tour received lukewarm reception. After nearly fifteen years of concerts, tours, albums, and global fame, the band collectively chose to bring their journey to an end.

Prior to the commencement of the tour, Jay Jay collaborated with Kramer Guitars to craft a unique guitar featuring the iconic Love Is For Suckers album art.
