Seventeen Flip-Flop Guitar Tee

In today's context, those lyrics would get you cancelled, but back in the 1980s, Winger was poised to conquer the world. Their multi-platinum debut LP, coupled with MTV exposure and opening for major hard-rock acts, set the stage for Winger's ascent to arenas worldwide. The catalyst? Winger's hit song "Seventeen." Leading the charge was singer/bassist Kip Winger and his right-hand guitar maestro, Reb Beach.

In a straightforward performance video, Winger's "Seventeen" became an MTV staple, gracing TV screens across America. Then came the guitar solo, a moment that introduced Reb Beach as a new guitar hero. Audiences watched in awe as he delivered a splendid guitar solo, tapping section included, using a late '80s Kramer Pacer Deluxe in a mesmerizing flip-flop blue finish.

While Reb's Pacer Deluxe was a standard production Kramer, it boasted distinctive features, including 3 EMG pickups, a recessed Floyd Rose tremolo, and a bound "beak" headstock with a diminishing gold Kramer logo.

Reb's journey with Ibanez guitars would soon take center stage, leading to the exclusive use of Ibanez instruments and retirement of other non-Ibanez guitars, including this iconic Kramer. However, before this transition, Reb's Kramer Pacer Deluxe achieved immortality in Winger's "Seventeen" music video.
