Sarzo Slammer #1 Tee (Women's Cut)

Mama, we're all crazee for this bass! In 1984, following the massive success of Quiet Riot's "Metal Health" LP, Rudy Sarzo seized the opportunity to craft his very own signature bass in collaboration with the Washburn guitar company. He hand drew the star-like design on a large sheet of paper on a day off in his hotel room as a starting point, outfitting the bass with 24 frets, an ebony fingerboard, split pickup switches, and a special idea for the finish: a black and white "rising sun" to set this bass apart like no other. To give it the final touch, special stripe-finished Bartolini pickups were added (featured ONLY on Rudy's personal bass), and thus, it received its name: The Sarzo Slammer!

Soon after the "Slammer" was presented to Rudy and went into production, advertising campaigns for the bass were in full swing. It made its debut on the 1984 Quiet Riot Condition Critical record, appearing in the "Mama We're All Crazee Now" music video and became an integral part of the Condition Critical tour that followed in the late summer and fall of 1984.

Unfortunately, production of the Sarzo Slammer came to an end in early 1986 and Rudy's original Sarzo Slammer bass found a new home in the early 1990s when it was purchased by a collector in Japan, where it remains to this day.
