Bruce Kulick "ESP Signature Model" Tee

After cementing his place in KISStory with over a decade as the guitarist for KISS, Bruce Kulick began collaborating with ESP Guitars to develop his own signature model. When it came time to design the guitar, Bruce drew inspiration from two key instruments in his past: his first electric guitar, a 1960s Gibson SG, and his beloved BC Rich Eagle. The guitar’s horns were modeled after the Gibson SG, while the lower bout of the body was based on the BC Rich Eagle, blending both designs to create the timeless vibe Bruce sought.

In addition to the body features, Bruce selected a dark rosewood fingerboard with double parallelogram inlays, reminiscent of select 1960s Gibson models. The guitar was equipped with nickel hardware, a white pearloid pickguard, and a glossy black finish.

The guitar was presented to Bruce in early 1996, just in time for him to use it during the recording of the Carnival of Souls album, completed in February of that year. It can be heard on tracks like “I Confess” and the solo for “Childhood’s End.” Bruce continued to use the guitar on both Union LPs, as well as his solo albums Audiodog, Transformer, and BK3.

Bruce’s signature model officially debuted at the 1997 NAMM Show and was available in both neck-through and bolt-on neck styles. Fewer than 100 of these guitars were produced, making them highly collectible.

About his ESP signature model, Bruce says, “I think I hit a home run with it. It’s got a great mid-range tone and is easy to play.”
